This makes me so sad, and the context makes me even sadder :c
Nobody should do this to someone else (and they shouldn’t do it to themselves either). Drawing is a form of self-expression. Whether it meets your arbitrary standards for “good art” is irrelevant. Telling someone that they should stop because it’s “ugly” is like telling someone to bottle up their emotions because talking about them is “annoying”.
And then teachers wonder why parents today don’t respect them.
Some really make a bad name for themselves - my parents are both teachers, with my mother helping so many students in pursuing their careers that she eventually became a head counselor :)
My father on the other hand stayed a teacher, but he’s more than happy to give extra credit for students who add creative art to their essay packets.
Was it an art class or where you drawing instead of paying attention in class? I mean either way they should have kept them and returned them to you after class rather than tearing them up.
